A test release of a combined patch for Klingon Academy is now available here, this will hopefully provide a more streamlined experience of getting Klingon Academy up and running on modern operating systems.
A combined patch for Klingon Academy UK & US that includes:

- Klingon Academy Patch 1.02 by Interplay
- Multithreading & Rendering Fixes (v1.22) by Komat
- Replacement Launcher (Includes wrapper configuration options) by John
- Screenshot Fix

This patch assumes that you have freshly installed Klingon Academy from the original Interplay CD installation media on Windows 7 x86/x64 or above which also has the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or above installed for the replacement launcher.

Extract the downloaded zip file and run the extracted Klingon_Academy_1.02.r2_US_UK.exe

German version coming soon.

I have tested this on Windows 7 x86 and Windows 10 x86 & x64 but unfortunately I have not been able to test on Windows 7 x64 or any version of Windows 8.x.

Update: Please see this post for details on antivirus false positives.

There was a report of a possible antivirus false positive in another thread, the file is safe however the self extracting component of the file could be causing some false positives with a minority of antivirus vendors. I will be looking into this today to see if it can be resolved. which contains the patch installer executable is flagged by 5 out of 65 scans performed by VirusTotal as of 27/05/2018, the report for the zip file is below:

Klingon_Academy_1.02.r2_US_UK.exe is flagged by 7 out of 65 scans performed by VirusTotal as of 27/05/2018, the report for the executable file is below:

The actual components of the patch however are all reported fully clean by VirusTotal as of 27/05/2018, the reports for the files contained in the patch are below:

Update on false positive detections. They peaked at 21 out of 65 detections on VirusTotal two days ago, this is now down to 12 out of 65 as some vendors have corrected their definitions after making a false positive report. Initially it was actually down to 10 out of 65 however two vendors who did not previously detect a threat now do, its good expiernce having to deal with it and trying to get it corrected but I think I will be needing an alternative and perhaps less automated method of distribution.

All vendors I have contacted except for one have been extremly helpful by taking the time to analyse the file and correct the definitions. The one well known vendor who is being unhelpful has managed to convience me they are making it up as they go along :)

Edit, now down to 11 out of 65.
